(NCU 1984 LTD.) is a limited liability Secondary Cooperative Society with registration No. 4152 Dated 21.04.1984.
It is registered under the Co-operative Societies Act No 6 of 2013.
It is owned by 253 registered Cooperative Primary Societies located within Mwanza Region.
It is a member of the National Apex Organization of the Co-operative movement in Tanzania,
i.e. The Tanzania Federation of Co-operatives Limited (TFC).
(NCU 1984 LTD.) and SHIRECU of Shinyanga are the largest Co-operative Unions in Tanzania.
OUR MAJOR CLIENTS IN ACTIVITIES REGARDING DEVELOPMENT OF OUR UNION ARE AS FOLLOWS:-
FARMERS
Conduct farm preparation,planting,and major crops storation inorder to increase the value
of the raw crops which are later taken to AMCOS and be used as seeds to farmers who are members
and also non-members.
Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society (AMCOS)
They contibute by doing the following:-
Collection of major crops from farmers in correct records and measurements
Receive money from NCU LTD and purchase required crops from farmers while concerving the
allocated price of each crops by the government.
To pay farmers correct payments as per government allocated price of major crops.
Trasport crops from AMCOS to major warehouse.
NCU LTD
This is the main participant in the chain of co-operative structure and its responsible for the following
activities:-
To prepare and build AMCOS' ability to collect suplus crops in their warehouse form farmers.
To organize and supervise furmigation of warehouses.
Provide Education to AMCOS leaders inorder to ease supervision of AMCOS activities.
Provide AMCOS with leger books which will help in financial activities i.e managing
expenditures.
Provide Digital scales to farmers which help in measuring correct weight of crops to be
transfered to major NCU warehouse.
Help farmers in prepatarion of seasons on what to plant,how and waht to be done inorder to
produce highly valued major crops through providing them with correct agricultural inputs.
COTTON BOARD
It does the following:-
To supervise and provide diferent directives on production and marketing of cotton.
To organize provision of quality seeds,insecticides,fertilizers to cotton producing AMCOS.
Provide license to AMCOS deling with cotton production.
GOVERNMENT
The government is the top performer of all Agricultural activities thus it ensures that
it amends rules which will govern agricultural activities and protect farmers.
PRIVATE SECTORS
They help in strengthening Unions by :-
Provide affordable loans to farmers.
Help in furmigation systems.
Provide education to farmers in better farming ways.
